The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in human resources, information systems, or business, followed by hands-on experience in an HR operations or systems analyst role. Rhode Island has no state-issued license specific to hris consultants, but employers across Providence and Warwick routinely expect platform certifications such as Workday Pro or SAP SuccessFactors Associate. Building experience inside a Rhode Island healthcare system or financial services firm is one of the most reliable ways to enter the field here.
Which companies hire hris consultants in Rhode Island?
Companies currently hiring hris consultants in Rhode Island include Raytheon, AMERICAN SYSTEMS, and Teknor Apex Company, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's large healthcare networks, insurance carriers, and universities are the most consistent sources of full-time hris consultant openings in the state.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most hris consultant jobs?
Middletown, Pawtucket, and Newport have the most hris consultant openings in Rhode Island. Providence anchors demand as the state's largest employment center, home to major hospital systems, insurers, and universities, while Warwick and Cranston attract openings tied to corporate headquarters and regional business services operations that need ongoing HR technology support.
Are there remote hris consultant jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 0% of hris consultant openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and system-centered nature of the work.
