Position Summary:
The Quality Process Auditor performs first piece, in-process and finished product inspections. They monitor the machining, assembly and testing operations to assure that the products comply to their specifications and perform incoming inspections as needed.
Measures of success:
- Perform daily audits of all cells and fill out associated paperwork to document checks.
- Identify opportunities to improve cell performance.
- Identify one area to implement statistical process control (SPC) techniques on an annual basis
- Perform final inspection of commercial pump finished goods to ensure compliance with order requests and acceptable paint quality.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performs first piece inspection on all machines in the commercial and residential product areas.
- Performs in-process inspections on a routine audit basis to assure that parts are being machined properly, that components are correctly assembled, and that the completed products are properly tested to established testing procedures.
- Performs finished product inspections to assure that the product conforms to specifications in terms of painting, packaging and markings.
- Remains familiar with the product lines in terms of operation and function, material requirements, machining requirements, assembly operations, testing procedures, and calibration procedures.
- Uses gauges, tools, manufacturing process sheet (MPS) methods and test equipment required to properly inspect or verify conformance of parts or products to drawing specifications.
- Uses quality assurance principles such as statistical sampling, frequency distribution and control charts. Uses knowledge of SPC and geometric tolerancing.
- Retrieves and inputs data into quality management system (ETQ) or spreadsheets and maintains organized files of all inspections and records.
- Observes all safety regulations and practices and complies with company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in quality inspection
- Experience using SPC methods and software
- Ability to navigate multiple windows in company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to access production and technical resource data
- Experience using Microsoft Office Excel (other Office programs a plus)
Preferred:
- Associate degree in Industrial Technology or related field
- American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certified Auditor
Work Environment
This position works primarily in an office environment using computers and technology. Verbal and auditory capability are required. Occasional exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.
This position reports into the site every day.
This position has no direct reports.
