How do I get a hvac engineer job in Dallas?
Target the sectors driving the most local hiring: commercial construction, healthcare campuses in the Medical District, and corporate real estate in Uptown and Las Colinas. Engineering and mechanical contracting firms clustered in Irving and North Dallas are also active. Candidates with hands-on knowledge of large commercial systems and experience on Texas-scale projects tend to stand out in this market.
Which companies hire hvac engineers in Dallas?

The local market includes a strong mix of mechanical contracting firms, hospital systems, property management companies, and large general contractors working on commercial and mixed-use developments across the metro.
Are there remote hvac engineer jobs in Dallas?
Yes, but only partially, since hvac engineering involves hands-on fieldwork, equipment inspection, and on-site commissioning that cannot be done remotely. Roles at engineering consultancies in Uptown tend to offer the most flexibility for desk-based tasks.

The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through mechanical contracting firms that hire junior engineers or field technicians and rotate them through commercial projects. Dallas-area hospital systems and large property management companies also hire entry-level candidates into facilities engineering support roles. Familiarity with AutoCAD, energy modeling software, or LEED documentation gives candidates a concrete edge when applying without a deep project history.
