This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Intermediate Hydrogeologist for our Redmond, WA or Portland, OR office. You will be involved in projects primarily with our Environment, Remediation, and Water Team and other office teams and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- Providing technical field support for a variety of geologic and hydrogeologic investigations and data collection, hydrogeologic testing, geologic and hydrogeologic visualization, contaminated sites investigations
- Providing technical support in compilation and analysis of hydrogeologic data, and development of conceptual hydrogeological site models
- Work closely with other members of the WSP teams in Redmond and other offices
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, or Geology, Geosciences with a specialization in hydrogeology through course work, undergraduate projects/thesis, or internship
- 1 to 3 years of post-education experience working as a Hydrogeologist
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel
- Desire to effectively communicate technical information to colleagues in a readily understood format
- All candidates must have excellent and demonstrated verbal and written communications skills
- Strong commitment to quality and timely delivery of services
- Strong commitment to health and safety
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to work in the field 20-40% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate degree (M.Sc., Ph.D.) in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geosciences, Engineering, or related discipline
- Geologist-in-Training (GIT)
- Strong all-around academic knowledge of physical hydrogeology and geology
- Academic knowledge of water quality and geochemistry
- Practical experience with physical hydrogeology including borehole logging, monitoring well installation, hydraulic conductivity testing, transducer deployment, and water quality and solids sampling
- Strong computer skills including working with Python and/or R, GIS-type software, digital databases, aquifer test analysis software (AQTESOLV), and visualization software (Leapfrog)
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $68,500 - $89,500
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
