Who's Hiring

Information Security Intern Jobs in Philadelphia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a information security intern job in Philadelphia?
Focus your search on Philadelphia's financial services firms clustered in Center City, the large health systems anchored in University City and North Philadelphia, and the universities that run active security operations centers. Candidates who can show hands-on lab work, a relevant certification like CompTIA Security+, or prior IT helpdesk experience stand out. Networking through local chapters of ISACA or (ISC)² gives you a real edge in this market.
Which companies hire information security interns in Philadelphia?
Employers hiring information security interns in Philadelphia right now include JMA Resources, Data Intelligence, and Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Philadelphia's mix of large regional banks, hospital networks, insurance carriers, and research universities makes it a consistent source of internship openings across both private and nonprofit sectors.
Are there remote information security intern jobs in Philadelphia?
Yes, though roles vary: analytical and compliance-focused tasks are more remote-friendly, while hands-on network monitoring or lab work typically requires on-site presence. About 67% of information security intern openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader industry flexibility. Threat intelligence research and security awareness training support tend to be the most remote-compatible functions among Philadelphia employers.
How can I get a information security intern job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is through university-affiliated programs, particularly those tied to Drexel, Temple, or Penn, which co-op and intern pipelines connect directly to local employers. Philadelphia's smaller financial technology firms and regional insurance companies regularly hire candidates with strong coursework and a home lab or capture-the-flag competition background. Building a GitHub portfolio of security scripts and completing a free certification course meaningfully narrows the experience gap for local hiring managers.
