Infrastructure Project Manager Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a infrastructure project manager job in Atlanta?
Focus on Atlanta's heaviest hiring sectors: transportation and transit, water and utilities, and large-scale commercial construction tied to the city's ongoing development. Employers concentrated in Midtown, Downtown, and the Perimeter area look for candidates with PMP certification, experience managing public-sector contracts, and familiarity with GDOT or MARTA project environments. Strong relationships with general contractors and engineering firms active in the Atlanta metro also give candidates a practical edge.
Which companies hire infrastructure project managers in Atlanta?
Companies currently hiring infrastructure project managers in Atlanta include Google, Capgemini, and Deloitte, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta's market draws from a wide mix of civil engineering firms, transit authorities, utility companies, and large commercial developers with active capital programs across the metro.
Are there remote infrastructure project manager jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though with limits, since infrastructure project management typically requires on-site presence for inspections, contractor oversight, and stakeholder meetings. About 35% of infrastructure project manager openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with most flexibility concentrated in planning, budgeting, and program coordination roles rather than field-facing construction management positions.
How can I get a infrastructure project manager job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is through project coordinator or assistant project manager roles at civil engineering or construction management firms working on GDOT, Atlanta BeltLine, or Hartsfield-Jackson expansion programs. Atlanta's active infrastructure pipeline means smaller regional contractors often hire entry-level candidates willing to work on-site. A PMP associate credential, internship experience with a public agency, or exposure to scheduling tools like Primavera P6 makes candidates noticeably more competitive locally.
Which industries hire the most infrastructure project managers in Atlanta?
Atlanta infrastructure project manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Artificial Intelligence, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta's position as a regional transportation hub, combined with sustained investment in water systems, transit, and commercial real estate, keeps these sectors consistently among the largest sources of local openings.
