Who's Hiring

Insurance Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a insurance job in Indianapolis?
Focus your search on Indianapolis's health insurance carriers, regional banks with insurance subsidiaries, and the independent agencies clustered along the North Meridian Street corridor and in Keystone Crossing. Candidates who hold an active Indiana producer license for their target line and can point to experience with agency management systems like Applied Epic or Vertafore stand out in a market where most openings go to those with at least one prior carrier or agency role.
Which companies hire insurances in Indianapolis?
Companies currently hiring insurances in Indianapolis include AAA Hoosier Motor Club, Farmers Insurance, and OrthoIndy, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indianapolis's employer mix is unusually deep in health insurance and managed care, driven by the city's status as a major Midwest healthcare hub, alongside a strong cluster of regional property-casualty carriers and independent brokerages.
Are there remote insurance jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role. Desk-based positions such as claims examiners, benefits analysts, and commercial underwriters are far more remote-friendly than field roles like loss control representatives or on-site adjusters. About 62% of insurance openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with health insurance and corporate benefits roles accounting for the largest share of fully remote options.
How can I get a insurance job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is a customer service or call center role at one of the city's health insurance carriers or large regional agencies, where most companies promote from within once you have your producer license. Indianapolis employers like large managed care organizations and regional independent agencies regularly hire unlicensed candidates into service roles and cover licensing costs. Completing your Property and Casualty or Life and Health exam before applying gives you a concrete edge over other entry-level applicants.
