We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and technically minded Junior Interior Designer / Design Project Coordinator to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced design professionals, contribute to exceptional residential projects, and gain invaluable real-world experience in both the creative and technical aspects of interior design and construction.

What You'll Do

As part of our design team, you'll be involved in a variety of responsibilities that bring our projects from concept to completion.

Create, modify, and maintain floor plans, elevations, and technical drawings using AutoCAD.

Learn and utilize additional design, drafting, and 3D visualization software.

Assist with kitchen, bath, and interior space planning and design development.

Support the creation of design presentations, material selections, and project documentation.

Research cabinetry, fixtures, finishes, furnishings, and construction materials.

Assist with product specifications, pricing, estimating, and purchasing.

Collaborate with our designers on active residential renovation and construction projects.

Help coordinate project details, schedules, materials, and information.

Organize and maintain our design library, product samples, and showroom displays.

Participate in the daily operations of a busy design studio, including occasional errands and material pickups.

No two days are exactly alike! This is a hands-on position where you'll gain exposure to the entire design and construction process.

Required Qualifications

We are looking for applicants who possess a strong educational and technical foundation, along with the motivation to continue developing their skills.

Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or a closely related field.

Working proficiency in AutoCAD is required.

Ability to read, interpret, and produce architectural floor plans, elevations, and technical drawings.

Strong computer skills and an aptitude for learning new design software and technology.

Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication skills and a professional, positive attitude.

Dependability, accountability, initiative, and a strong work ethic.

Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continually improve.

Applicants must currently reside within commuting distance of Petoskey, Michigan, and be available to work full-time, in person. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Additional Skills That Will Make You Stand Out

While not required, we're especially interested in candidates who have:

Experience with SketchUp, Revit, Chief Architect, or other 3D design and visualization software.

Knowledge of residential construction methods, cabinetry, architectural detailing, or kitchen and bath design.

Experience developing construction documents, technical drawings, or design presentations.

Familiarity with building materials, product specifications, or estimating.

A portfolio demonstrating strong technical drafting and design abilities.

A natural curiosity about how things are designed, engineered, and built.

Recent college graduates are strongly encouraged to apply! We value technical aptitude, ambition, and a genuine desire to learn. Extensive professional experience is not required.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: $45,000–$55,000

Compensation will be determined based on education, AutoCAD proficiency, additional software expertise, relevant experience, and demonstrated technical abilities.
