SUMMARY
The Senior Manager of Internal Communications is a strategic and dynamic leader responsible for developing and executing initiatives that foster meaningful employee and community engagement with internal audiences. This role manages the company’s overarching messaging, including programs associated with educating and informing employees all while ensuring alignment with organizational values and business goals.
This individual will drive innovation in leadership communication, employee communication while cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, influencers, community partners, and Lendmark key stakeholders to provide effective and efficient communication outcomes. The role requires a strong balance of strategic vision with firsthand day-to-day execution, and a focused emphasis on measurable impact and storytelling as well as cross-functional alignment and collaboration.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Communications (30%)
Shape, implement and effectively prioritize a robust, strategic internal communications plan for business initiatives that support and accelerate Lendmark’s growth.
Ensure company messages reflect the company’s mission and community values by delivering high-impact communication messages/stories designed to educate, inform and engage all Lendmark employees and protect Lendmark’s reputation.
Build, influence and lead internal stakeholder partnerships to deliver communications and messaging strategies for cross‑functional priorities and special projects, turning complex information into transparent, action‑oriented communications aligned with departmental objectives.
Support the management of employee communication department budget through accurate and consistent tracking and reporting.
Content Development (35%)
Produce high-quality content for various channels and mechanisms including the Executive Leadership Team, internal news articles, video scripts, blog articles, key messages, presentations, talking points, etc. The messages will consistently convey the company values and priorities to help influence change and keep employees informed, engaged and prepared for growth / change.
Lead creative storytelling for special events and philanthropic endeavors, including the Climb to Cure annual campaign and Leadership Conference, to ensure goals are met and employees engaged and informed.
Create content for crisis communications and reputation management issues for internal stakeholders that support and protect Lendmark’s brand and align and reflect the company’s mission and LEND values across the business.
Drive cohesive messaging hierarchy and content across all internal channels to achieve and maintain the highest standards of accuracy, quality and consistency across all of the employee channels and mechanisms.
Channel Management (25%)
Own and evolve Lendmark’s employee communication platform, Lendmark Engage / SharePoint, as Editor in Chief, leveraging an editorial strategy to deliver cohesive, high‑quality messaging aligned to business priorities.
Lead Lendmark Engage governance and analytics, including using approved AI techniques, to track the effectiveness of the platform, identify and distribute articles in most productive manner and deliver a consistent cadence of reporting that provides actionable insights to senior leaders.
Provide strategic oversight for employee town-hall events, in alignment with company goals and objectives.
Establish and manage KPIs to measure the effectiveness of all employee communication initiatives, including employee surveys, budgetary considerations and employee engagement outcomes through a disciplined approach and delivery.
Brand Management (10%)
Ensure a consistent, powerful brand voice across all internal mediums and platforms, in alignment with strategic initiatives and the Lendmark brand style guide.
Oversee internal branding programming, including cross-functional communication and support, maintaining and tracking employer brand touchpoints throughout the business.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or related discipline
Proven leadership experience in corporate communications, public relations, crisis communication, social media community engagement, CSR, or related fields.
7+ years of relevant experience, including strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration, preferably with a blend at public, private and non-profit organizations.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to travel up to 20% for events and community initiatives.
Strong project management skills and diligence.
Passion for generating content across internal communication platforms.
Strong skillset in employee engagement and change management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree
Accredited in Public Relations (APR) Certification
Strong artificial intelligence knowledge and awareness of how to apply AI strategies across owned media channels.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is competitive based on the job duties as well as the specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience of the selected candidate.
This position is eligible for Semi Annual Incentive compensation based on individual and company performance guidelines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
May supervise junior staff or interns as team expands.
Hybrid Eligible – This position is based at the Lawrenceville, Georgia corporate office and incorporates a flexible work schedule with a mix of onsite and remote work.
