Job Overview
Rijas Technology is seeking a reliable and technically minded IT Support Specialist to provide day-to-day technical assistance and support for users, computer systems, software, and office technology. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical users.
This position will help maintain reliable technology operations, resolve support requests, and assist with the setup, maintenance, and documentation of IT systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to employees and users.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, and business applications.
- Assist users with account access, passwords, and software-related issues.
- Monitor and respond to IT support requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of technical issues, resolutions, and equipment.
- Assist with user onboarding and workstation setup.
- Perform routine system updates, software installations, and maintenance.
- Support basic network and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Assist with data backup and system maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate with external technology vendors when additional support is required.
- Maintain IT documentation, procedures, and equipment inventories.
- Follow company security and technology policies.
- Assist with other IT projects and technical duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in IT support, help desk, or a related technical role preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and common business software.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and networking.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple support requests.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and cloud-based applications.
- Familiarity with Active Directory or user-management systems.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Experience with remote-support tools.
- Familiarity with ticketing and help-desk systems.
- Understanding of basic cybersecurity and access-control practices.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar technical certification is a plus.
