This position is ideal for a seasoned design and sales professional with a strong background in kitchen and bath remodeling, cabinetry, countertops, tile, and full-project design.
The Senior Kitchen & Bath Designer will work directly with homeowners to guide them through the entire remodeling process—from initial design concepts and space planning through product selection, project development, and final sale.
As a senior member of the department, this position will also assist with training and mentoring new designers, reviewing and redlining designs and orders prior to submission, and helping maintain accuracy and consistency throughout the design team.
This is a high-volume, performance-driven position for someone who combines strong design expertise with proven sales ability and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with showroom clients to understand their project goals, design preferences, budget, and overall vision.
- Design functional and visually appealing kitchens, bathrooms, and other interior spaces.
- Sell complete remodeling solutions, including cabinetry, countertops, tile, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and related products.
- Guide clients through material, finish, color, and product selections.
- Prepare design concepts, layouts, proposals, and detailed project specifications.
- Present comprehensive remodeling packages tailored to each client's needs, style, and budget.
- Manage the sales process from initial consultation through contract, final selections, and order completion.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective and active clients to maximize conversion and customer satisfaction.
- Redline and review cabinetry orders, designs, measurements, specifications, and selections prior to ordering to help identify errors, discrepancies, or potential project issues.
- Verify that orders are complete and consistent with approved designs and customer selections prior to submission.
- Assist with training and onboarding new designers and sales team members on products, design standards, software, sales processes, and company procedures.
- Mentor less-experienced designers and provide guidance on layouts, product selections, order accuracy, and complex project situations.
- Serve as a senior resource to the design team when additional project review or design expertise is needed.
- Coordinate with project managers, purchasing, fabrication, installation, and other internal departments to help ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Maintain organized and accurate project files, customer records, proposals, and sales documentation.
- Meet or exceed individual sales and performance goals.
- Develop long-term relationships with homeowners, contractors, builders, designers, and repeat clients.
- Stay current on kitchen and bath design trends, cabinetry products, countertops, tile, materials, finishes, and remodeling solutions.
- Assist management with improving design procedures, sales processes, order accuracy, and the overall customer experience.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in kitchen and bath design, cabinetry, interior design, home improvement sales, or residential remodeling preferred.
- Strong understanding of kitchen and bathroom design, space planning, cabinetry, countertops, tile, and residential remodeling.
- Proven sales success in a consultative, customer-focused environment.
- Must be comfortable selling complete remodeling projects, not simply individual products or materials.
- Experience working directly with homeowners from initial consultation through completed project selections.
- Experience reviewing cabinetry orders, layouts, measurements, and specifications is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience training, mentoring, or supporting junior designers is preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
- Experience with kitchen and bath design software is strongly preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, operations, purchasing, production, and installation teams.
- Weekend and showroom retail-hour availability is required.
- Self-motivated, professional, coachable, and comfortable working in a performance- and commission-driven environment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate combines strong design expertise, technical knowledge, sales ability, and leadership skills.
This individual should be able to take a client's vision and develop a complete remodeling solution while confidently guiding the customer through the design and purchasing process.
As a Senior Kitchen & Bath Designer, this person should also be comfortable reviewing complex projects, identifying potential issues before orders are placed, helping newer designers develop their skills, and maintaining a high standard of design and order accuracy throughout the department.

Kitchen Designer Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a kitchen designer in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania does not issue a state license specifically for kitchen designers, so entry typically comes through a combination of formal education and industry credentialing. Most employers prefer candidates with an associate or bachelor's degree in interior design or a related field. The National Kitchen and Bath Association's Certified Kitchen Designer credential is widely recognized by Pennsylvania employers as the professional standard and can be pursued after accumulating qualifying work experience and education.
Which companies hire kitchen designers in Pennsylvania?
Companies currently hiring kitchen designers in Pennsylvania include Kiba Studios, Lezzer Lumber, and Colonial Marble, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's mix of large home improvement retailers, custom cabinetry studios, and production homebuilders like Toll Brothers makes it a consistent source of kitchen designer openings at multiple seniority levels.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most kitchen designer jobs?
The Pennsylvania cities with the most kitchen designer openings are York, Bethlehem, and Pittsburgh. The Philadelphia area leads because of its dense concentration of home improvement retail locations, high-end residential remodeling firms, and active new-construction communities in the surrounding suburbs, while Pittsburgh's growing renovation market and the Lehigh Valley's expanding residential development account for the openings in those areas.
Are there remote kitchen designer jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, but they're rare. Kitchen design is largely hands-on, requiring in-person client consultations, showroom visits, and site measurements, so fully remote roles are uncommon. About 0% of kitchen designer openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and when they do exist, they tend to involve design rendering, drafting, or virtual consultation work that can be done off-site.
How can I get hired as a kitchen designer in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a showroom sales or design assistant role at a home improvement retailer or cabinetry dealer in Pennsylvania, where on-the-job training in design software and product knowledge is common. Employers like The Home Depot and regional cabinetry studios regularly bring on candidates from adjacent roles such as interior design intern, sales associate, or construction estimator. Building a portfolio of student projects or personal renovation work and pursuing the National Kitchen and Bath Association's associate-level credentials can give candidates a clear edge over other applicants without direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to kitchen designer jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to kitchen designer jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
