About the Position

Wallquest is seeking a highly organized and technically strong Graphic Designer to join our creative team with a focus on print production, project management and creative execution.

This position is ideal for someone who combines strong graphic design skills with an understanding of interiors, textiles, wallcovering, pattern and color, but who also enjoys the technical side of bringing creative projects into production.

You’ll work directly with our Graphics Department Manager to coordinate and execute projects across wallcovering collections, catalogs, sampling, photography, packaging, marketing materials, digital content and print production.

We need someone who can take a project from creative concept through the details required to actually produce it.

That means keeping projects organized, managing deadlines, preparing accurate artwork, communicating with other departments, troubleshooting problems and making sure nothing gets lost between design and production.

This role is a strong fit for someone who is creative, but also naturally thinks:

Is the file correct? Is the color right? What is the deadline? What are we waiting on? What's the next step?

What You'll DoGraphic Design & Creative Production

• Design catalogs, collection books, brochures, presentations, packaging and marketing materials
• Work with wallcovering patterns, colorways, textures, photography and interior imagery
• Prepare and modify artwork in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Build production-ready files for internal and external printing
• Retouch, color-correct and prepare photography and product imagery
• Maintain consistency across print, digital and physical materials
• Review artwork for layout, typography, color, image quality and technical accuracy

Print Production

• Prepare files for commercial and digital print production
• Review bleeds, trim, resolution, color space, linked assets, fonts and final artwork specifications
• Create and review print-ready PDFs and production artwork
• Understand the differences between RGB and CMYK workflows
• Work with high-resolution photography and large graphic files
• Coordinate proofs, revisions and final production files
• Inspect work for errors before it reaches production
• Troubleshoot artwork and file issues with internal production teams and outside vendors
• Help maintain consistent color and image quality across different printed materials
• Organize final production assets, versions and archival files

Project Management

• Manage multiple creative and production projects simultaneously
• Maintain project schedules, priorities and deadlines
• Track projects from initial request through final delivery
• Coordinate artwork, photography, samples, approvals and revisions
• Communicate project status clearly to the Graphics Department Manager and other departments
• Follow up proactively when information, approvals or assets are missing
• Keep projects moving rather than waiting for someone else to identify the next step
• Coordinate with product development, sales, marketing, manufacturing and outside vendors
• Maintain organized project files and version control
• Identify potential production issues before they become problems

Qualifications

• Professional graphic design or creative production experience
• Strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated graphic design skills
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong understanding of typography, layout, color and image composition
• Experience preparing files for professional print production
• Experience working with high-resolution imagery and production artwork
• Strong file-management and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

A degree in Graphic Design, Textile Design, Surface Design, Interior Design, Visual Communications or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience and portfolio quality will carry significant weight.

Particularly Valuable Experience

Experience working directly with printed products or manufactured design products is particularly valuable.

Portfolio Requirement

A portfolio is required for consideration.

In addition to finished design work, we're interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience taking projects from concept through production.

Relevant portfolio work may include:

• Catalogs and lookbooks
• Textile or surface-design projects
• Wallcoverings or interiors
• Print production
• Packaging
• Photography
• Pattern and color work
• Product launches
• Large multi-page documents
• Production artwork

We are looking for someone with both visual taste and technical depth, rather than a portfolio focused primarily on logos, corporate graphics or social media.
