ABOUT THE ROLE
As we continue to grow and diversify, we’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Laboratory Services to join our team in Midland, MI. In this role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, performance, and commercial growth of Savant Labs in alignment with the company’s mission, vision, and core values. This role oversees all lab operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and long-term success, while maintaining strict compliance with legal, regulatory, and quality standards.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Laboratory Science, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 6–10 years of progressive cross-functional leadership experience in laboratory or technical/scientific sectors, with at least 3 years leading a laboratory, business unit, or technical operation with P&L accountability.
Experience operating within an ISO 9001 and/or ISO 17025 quality management environment.
Demonstrated track record of strategic planning, budgeting, P&L management, and business performance improvement.
* General management experience that includes oversight of commercial or customer-facing functions (e.g., sales or customer support).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead overall lab business performance, aligning commercial strategy, resource deployment, and cross-functional teams with growth targets for the lab as a standalone business.
Manage full P&L performance, including budget development, operational forecasting, variance management, and cost control, in close coordination with Finance leadership.
Direct daily lab operations across testing, instrument and resource planning, quality assurance, purchasing, and turnaround to maximize service quality, throughput, and compliance.
Expand testing and service offerings as the lab grows into a standalone business, partnering with Product Management and Inside Sales to build the commercial pipeline, support customer needs, and strengthen market relationships.
Scale the lab's ancillary program offerings by partnering with the Program Manager on program design, execution, and resource planning.
Partner with technical leadership, and Commercial to establish scientific direction and advance testing capabilities and product development for the lab.
Ensure operational and regulatory rigor through strict adherence to company policies, applicable regulatory standards, and ISO-certified Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001/17025) across all business processes.
Promote a culture of leadership, innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement that reflects the company's values and commitment to excellence.
