Who's Hiring

Legal Counsel Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a legal counsel job in Boston?
Focus on Boston's dominant hiring sectors: life sciences and biotech around the Seaport and Kendall Square corridor, financial services firms in the Financial District, and major academic medical centers in the Longwood Medical Area. Candidates with transactional, regulatory, or healthcare compliance experience stand out locally. Networking through the Boston Bar Association and targeting in-house roles at growth-stage biotech companies gives you a concrete edge in this market.
Which companies hire legal counsels in Boston?
Employers hiring legal counsels in Boston right now include State Street, Analysis, and Chewy, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Boston's hiring base is especially deep in life sciences, insurance, and asset management, where in-house legal teams are common even at mid-size companies.
Are there remote legal counsel jobs in Boston?
Yes, though legal counsel roles that involve court appearances, contract negotiations, or regulated-industry compliance tend to require at least some in-person presence. About 100% of legal counsel openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with fully remote arrangements most common in contract review, privacy law, and corporate governance work at technology and financial services employers.
How can I get a legal counsel job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is targeting junior in-house roles at growth-stage biotech or health-tech companies in the Seaport and Cambridge, where smaller legal teams hire JDs for contract administration and compliance support. Staff attorney positions at Boston-area hospitals and clinical research organizations also provide early in-house experience. A clerkship with a Massachusetts federal or state court, or a stint in a Boston BigLaw litigation group, strengthens your candidacy meaningfully for a later in-house move.
