Mid Level Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level licensed mental health counselor (lmhc) job?
Position your application around independent clinical work you have led, not just participated in. Highlight specific populations you have treated, modalities you have applied with measurable outcomes, and any supervision or case consultation you have handled. Mid level roles expect you to walk in ready to carry a full caseload, so your resume and cover letter should demonstrate ownership of client care from intake through discharge without leaning on close oversight.
Which companies hire mid level licensed mental health counselor (lmhc)s?
Companies hiring mid level licensed mental health counselor (lmhc)s right now include Positive Development, MetroPlusHealth, and Embrace Pathways, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of organizations, including community mental health centers, private group practices, health systems, and employer assistance programs looking for clinicians who can practice independently.
Are there remote mid level licensed mental health counselor (lmhc) jobs?
Yes, telehealth has made remote work a real and sustained option for licensed counselors. About 0% of mid level licensed mental health counselor (lmhc) openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, though many positions still require some in-person presence depending on the population served. Roles focused on individual outpatient therapy tend to have the most scheduling and location flexibility.
How do I move up to a mid level licensed mental health counselor (lmhc) role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built through consistent independent caseload management, deliberate specialization in one or two treatment areas, and taking on responsibilities that go beyond session delivery, such as case coordination, supervision of interns, or leading group programming. Employers notice clinicians who can demonstrate measurable client progress and who have begun shaping how care is delivered, not just following established protocols.
Which industries hire the most mid level licensed mental health counselor (lmhc)s?
Mid Level licensed mental health counselor (lmhc) roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring because they serve high volumes of clients with complex or chronic needs, and they rely on experienced clinicians who can manage caseloads, contribute to care teams, and support less experienced staff without requiring intensive oversight.
