Entry Level Licensed Practical Nurse Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level licensed practical nurse job?
Start by ensuring your LPN licensure is current and your NCLEX-PN is passed, then target facilities that explicitly welcome new graduates, such as long-term care centers, rehabilitation units, and outpatient clinics. Highlight clinical rotation hours, any CNA or patient-care technician experience, and soft skills like charting accuracy and patient communication. A willingness to work varied shifts often gives entry level candidates a meaningful edge.
Which companies hire entry level licensed practical nurses?
Companies hiring entry level licensed practical nurses right now include Maxim Healthcare, PruittHealth, and WVU Medicine, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, and multi-site healthcare networks tend to be the most consistent employers at this experience level, given their high patient volume and ongoing need to develop newer clinical staff.
Are there remote entry level licensed practical nurse jobs?
Yes, though most LPN roles require in-person patient care. About 7% of entry level licensed practical nurse openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and these positions typically involve telephonic care coordination, chronic disease management calls, or insurance utilization review rather than direct bedside nursing. Clinical hands-on roles remain predominantly on-site.
Are these new grad licensed practical nurse jobs?
Yes. The listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior licensed practical nurse roles designed for candidates with little or no professional experience. A new-grad-friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts clinical rotations or internship hours toward eligibility, and does not require specialty certifications beyond active LPN licensure and a passed NCLEX-PN.
Which industries hire the most entry level licensed practical nurses?
Entry Level licensed practical nurse roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because high patient turnover, staffing ratios set by regulation, and continuous admissions create steady demand for newly licensed nurses who can step into structured, supervised care environments quickly.
