Licensed Practical Nurse Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a licensed practical nurse job in Atlanta?
Focus your search on Atlanta's major hospital systems, skilled nursing facilities along the Perimeter, and the outpatient clinics clustered near Emory University Hospital and Piedmont Atlanta. Candidates who hold a current Georgia LPN license and have experience in med-surg, long-term care, or home health move fastest in this market. Networking through Grady Health System's workforce programs and local community health centers also opens doors that general applications miss.
Which companies hire licensed practical nurses in Atlanta?
Employers hiring licensed practical nurses in Atlanta right now include Naphcare, Kaiser Permanente, and AccordCare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's hiring base runs from large academic medical centers and national long-term care chains to federally qualified health centers serving underserved neighborhoods across the city.
Are there remote licensed practical nurse jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though options are limited because licensed practical nurse work is fundamentally hands-on and tied to patient care settings. About 0% of licensed practical nurse openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those roles tend to be in telehealth triage, care coordination, or utilization review rather than direct bedside care.
How can I get a licensed practical nurse job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is through skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities, which consistently hire new LPNs and provide structured orientation. Atlanta-area long-term care networks, federally qualified health centers in neighborhoods like Southwest Atlanta, and home health agencies frequently post entry-level openings. Completing a clinical rotation or volunteer shift at a facility before applying gives candidates a measurable edge over cold applicants.
Which industries hire the most licensed practical nurses in Atlanta?
Atlanta licensed practical nurse roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's dense network of hospital systems, its aging population in surrounding Fulton and DeKalb counties, and the city's expanding network of outpatient and specialty clinics all sustain consistent demand across those sectors.
