The Assistant Director of Finance – Productivity & Financial Analysis plays a critical leadership role in supporting the financial health of the hotel.
This position partners closely with the Director of Finance and operational leaders to drive financial performance, labor productivity, and data-driven decision-making. The role oversees core accounting functions while elevating the hotel’s analytical capabilities, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and actionable insights that improve profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Hyatt standards
- Lead variance analysis (revenue, labor, expenses) vs. budget, forecast, and prior year; provide clear business insights and recommendations
- Support financial reviews and presentations with ownership/leadership teams
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards (e.g., RevPAR, GOP, labor productivity, cost ratios) to support operational decision-making
Productivity & Cost Management
- Oversee hotel productivity initiatives, with a strong focus on labor optimization and operational efficiency
- Partner with department leaders to analyze staffing models, scheduling, and productivity metrics
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement without compromising guest experience
- Monitor departmental expenses and enforce accountability to financial targets
Accounting Operations & Month-End Close
- Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes and reporting
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain oversight of AP, AR, and cash management functions
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Support the annual budget and monthly forecast processes
- Build financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic planning
- Facilitate collaboration with department heads to align operational goals with financial targets
Internal Controls, Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with Hyatt policies, SOX requirements, and local regulations
- Maintain strong internal controls and audit-ready documentation
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and responses to auditor requests
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Supervise and develop accounting colleagues, including training, coaching, and performance management
- Serve as a strategic partner to operations, translating financial data into actionable insights
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration
- Support system optimization and process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency

Salary: Salary range for this position is $93,000 to $100,000. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2 - 4+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in hospitality
- Strong knowledge of hotel financial systems (e.g., Opera, Oracle, POS/PMS platforms)
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Proven leadership and team development experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence non-financial leaders
- High level of integrity and ability to manage confidential information
