JOB SUMMARY
The main duties of the Mechanic position include performing a full range of repair and modification work on heavy equipment vehicles. This is a full-time position that requires overtime through peak season, reports to the Territory Manager, and has no supervisory responsibility.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a full range of repair and modification work on heavy equipment vehicles to include, but not limited to light-duty, heavy-duty, and Redi-Mix trucks, backhoes, loaders, and miscellaneous equipment.
- Repair tires, wheels, wheel bearings, idler wheels, idler bearings, and oil seals.
- Replaces suspension arms, torsion bars, stabilizer bars, etc.
- Repair hydraulic and air brake systems.
- Determine the nature and extent of repairs required.
- Perform major and minor repairs on engines, power transmissions, transfers, and related electrical, fuel, and hydraulic components.
- Use technical manuals and other publications to identify and order repair parts.
- Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using testing equipment such as compression testers, computer software tools, test meters, micrometers, gauges, and overall strong diagnostic skills.
- Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency before being released to the field.
- Complete welding, run overhead crane, lifts, and jacks.
- Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
- Accreditation from a school of mechanics or 3 plus years working with heavy construction equipment.
- Class B CDL.
- Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal.
- Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
