We're looking for engineers who want to build technology that matters and see it reach real operators in the field.
This is a full-time, on-site position at our San Francisco facility. You will provide mechanical engineering bandwidth across our Gen 0.x prototype and Gen 1 production phases — working across design, build, test, and field support to keep the program moving and give the core design team the space to stay focused on next-generation development. You'll own workstreams independently and be expected to operate with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities
- Support Gen 0.x mechanical design iteration and prototype builds
- Design, fabricate, and maintain test fixtures alongside the test engineer
- Develop end-of-line fixturing and assembly tooling for Gen 1 production
- Handle design changes, repairs, and troubleshooting on units returning from the field throughout the program
- Coordinate with manufacturing and sourcing to support build execution
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience designing, building, and testing mechanical or electromechanical systems
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD
- Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM
- Hands-on fabrication skills: manual assembly, machine shop, prototyping
- Able to own workstreams independently across design, build, and test
- Able to deliver quality work in a fast-paced startup environment
- On-site at the Roam San Francisco facility
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Experience with pneumatic or electromechanical systems
- Manufacturing or sourcing background
- Experience with wearable hardware or human-worn devices
- Strong preference given to candidates available immediately
- US Citizen or permanent resident
