Who's Hiring

Mental Health Jobs in Albuquerque: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mental health job in Albuquerque?
Focus your search on Albuquerque's community behavioral health centers, federally qualified health centers, and the University of New Mexico Health Sciences campus, which together drive the bulk of local hiring. The Uptown medical corridor and Downtown nonprofit sector also concentrate openings. Candidates with experience in crisis intervention, substance use treatment, or bilingual Spanish-English counseling have a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire mental healths in Albuquerque?
Employers hiring mental healths in Albuquerque right now include Chrysalis Healthcare, Optum, and evolvedMD, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Albuquerque's hiring landscape is anchored by hospital networks, tribal health programs, and community mental health organizations that serve the city's diverse and underserved populations.
Are there remote mental health jobs in Albuquerque?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the role. Direct clinical work, crisis response, and residential positions are almost always on-site, while care coordination, utilization review, and telehealth therapy roles offer more flexibility. About 9% of mental health openings tied to Albuquerque are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Telehealth roles are the most consistently remote option in this market.
How can I get a mental health job in Albuquerque with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Albuquerque is a behavioral health technician or peer support specialist role, which community mental health centers and residential programs hire without advanced credentials. Organizations serving Albuquerque's unhoused population and substance use recovery programs regularly bring on entry-level staff. Bilingual Spanish-English ability and lived experience with behavioral health are genuine differentiators that local employers weigh heavily.
