Mid Level Mental Health Therapy Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level mental health therapy job?
Lead with clinical autonomy. Employers hiring at mid level want to see that you manage a caseload independently, adapt evidence-based modalities to complex cases, and document treatment with minimal supervision. Highlight specific populations you have served, any co-occurring conditions you handle regularly, and outcomes you have helped drive. A focused resume that shows ownership of client care, not just participation in it, moves you past the initial screen.
Which companies hire mid level mental health therapys?
Companies hiring mid level mental health therapys right now include Sea Mar Community Health Centers, CHE Behavioral Health Services, and Naphcare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from community mental health centers, private group practices, telehealth platforms, hospital systems, and employee assistance programs, all of which need licensed clinicians who can work with limited oversight.
Are there remote mid level mental health therapy jobs?
Yes, and the share is substantial. About 5% of mid level mental health therapy openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, driven largely by telehealth platforms and group practices that expanded virtual care. Fully remote roles typically require an active license in the state where clients are located, so multi-state licensure or participation in a compact agreement can widen your options considerably.
How do I move up to a mid level mental health therapy role?
The shift from entry level to mid level in mental health therapy is built on demonstrated clinical ownership over time. That means completing licensure hours, obtaining your full independent license, and taking on progressively complex cases without close supervision. Developing a clear specialty, such as trauma, substance use, or a specific age group, and showing measurable client progress in your documentation positions you as someone ready for the autonomy mid level roles expect.
Which industries hire the most mid level mental health therapys?
Mid Level mental health therapy roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring because they operate at the intersection of expanding demand for behavioral health services and regulatory requirements for licensed, independently practicing clinicians who can carry caseloads without continuous oversight.
