Mid Level Pulmonary Physician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level pulmonary physician job?
Position your application around independent clinical ownership: cases you managed without direct attending supervision, procedures you performed autonomously, and outcomes you drove. Highlight experience with ventilator management, bronchoscopy, or sleep medicine if relevant to the role. Tailor your CV to show depth in pulmonary critical care or outpatient pulmonology, and come prepared to discuss how you handle diagnostic ambiguity on your own.
Which companies hire mid level pulmonary physicians?
Companies hiring mid level pulmonary physicians right now include Baylor College of Medicine, Kettering Health, and UC Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from large academic health systems, regional hospital networks, and multispecialty physician groups looking for clinicians who can carry a full panel and contribute beyond supervised training.
Are there remote mid level pulmonary physician jobs?
Yes, though most pulmonary physician roles require at least some on-site presence given the hands-on nature of critical care and procedures. About 14% of mid level pulmonary physician openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with telehealth-compatible positions typically focused on outpatient follow-ups, sleep medicine consultations, and chronic disease management rather than acute inpatient care.
How do I move up to a mid level pulmonary physician role?
The transition from early-career to mid level happens when you build a record of independent clinical decision-making, take ownership of complex cases without step-by-step attending guidance, and develop a subspecialty focus such as pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease, or critical care. Demonstrating measurable patient outcomes, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and earning trust to lead procedures independently all signal readiness for mid level responsibilities.
Which industries hire the most mid level pulmonary physicians?
Mid Level pulmonary physician roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Agriculture & Farming, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high-acuity inpatient units, outpatient pulmonology clinics, and sleep centers that need clinicians capable of managing complex respiratory conditions with limited supervisory overhead.
