Mid Level Respiratory Therapist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level respiratory therapist job?
Position yourself around clinical ownership: highlight experience managing ventilated patients independently, running complex weaning protocols, or leading code responses without direct supervision. Emphasize any specialty certifications like ACCS or NPS, and quantify outcomes where you can. Applications that show you already function at mid level, rather than just listing years worked, convert at a significantly higher rate with hiring managers.
Which companies hire mid level respiratory therapists?
Companies hiring mid level respiratory therapists right now include Banner Health, Trinity Health, and Bronson Healthcare Group, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to concentrate in health systems, large regional hospitals, and specialty respiratory care networks that need clinicians who can operate with minimal supervision across high-acuity units.
Are there remote mid level respiratory therapist jobs?
Yes, though most respiratory therapy work is inherently hands-on and facility-based. About 3% of mid level respiratory therapist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and these tend to cluster in telehealth monitoring, sleep study interpretation, and clinical education or training coordination roles rather than direct bedside care.
How do I move up to a mid level respiratory therapist role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built through consistent ownership of increasingly complex cases, not just time on the clock. Pursue specialty credentials, volunteer to precept new graduates, and take on charge or lead shifts when available. Demonstrating that you can manage a full caseload independently, troubleshoot equipment failures, and contribute to protocol development signals readiness for mid level responsibilities.
Which industries hire the most mid level respiratory therapists?
Mid Level respiratory therapist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Medical Devices, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high-acuity units, long-term acute care programs, and specialty pulmonary services that require experienced clinicians who can function independently without constant attending supervision.
