Our Network Operations Command Center (NOCC) monitors, troubleshoots and maintains Akamai's deployed network in a 24/7 environment. Our proactive stance enables Akamai to deliver content and applications, regardless of network traffic.
Partner with the best
As a Platform Operations Technician, you will develop and execute systems and processes to monitor and maintain Akamai's network. Working as part of a collaborative global team you will gain exposure to unique, large-scale networks. As a Platform Operations Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and troubleshooting of Akamai 24/7 platform, network traffic, threats and alerts
- Working in collaborative, internal and external cross functional teams to achieve timely resolution of platform affecting issues
- Administering automated software deployments to the distributed platform to maintain and ensure stability and security
- Ensuring platform issues are clearly tracked, updated and documented
- Participating in a day, evening or overnight network operations center shift schedule and following operations center workflow procedures

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 1 year relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant related technical field or its equivalent
- Display experience of administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment
- Demonstrate experience of Linux/Unix system administration and good knowledge of SQL and Scripting languages
- Be experienced in network technologies and internet protocols such as TCP/IP, WAN and DNS
- Be a team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in an ever-changing environment

Compensation
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $50,000 - $90,000/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
