Nursing Assistant Jobs in Charlottesville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a nursing assistant job in Charlottesville?
The strongest hiring in Charlottesville comes from the academic medical center, rehabilitation facilities, and the growing cluster of assisted living and memory care communities along the Route 29 corridor. Candidates with clinical rotation experience in an inpatient or long-term care setting stand out locally. Familiarity with electronic health records and a willingness to work evening or weekend shifts gives you a real edge in this market.
Which companies hire nursing assistants in Charlottesville?
Companies currently hiring nursing assistants in Charlottesville include Gentiva, Our Lady of Peace, and Sunrise Senior Living, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market is anchored by a large academic health system alongside independent senior care communities and home health agencies serving the broader Charlottesville metro.
Are there remote nursing assistant jobs in Charlottesville?
Remote nursing assistant work is uncommon because the role is fundamentally hands-on and requires direct patient care. About 0% of nursing assistant openings tied to Charlottesville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions tend to involve care coordination, scheduling support, or telehealth-adjacent duties rather than direct bedside care.
How can I get a nursing assistant job in Charlottesville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Charlottesville is through a state-approved nurse aide training program, several of which are offered locally through Piedmont Virginia Community College. Long-term care facilities and assisted living communities along Route 29 North regularly hire candidates who have completed training but lack extensive work history. Volunteering at a local hospital or hospice organization also builds the clinical exposure that Charlottesville employers look for in entry-level candidates.
