AMZL Finance seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to join the US FP&A team. This role offers opportunities to grow your career across the many facets of our world-class delivery operation, with potential to rotate into other functional areas or roles across Amazon's portfolio of businesses.
As a Senior Financial Analyst on the AMZL IPAT (Insights, Planning, Analytics, and Technology) team, you will own financial and operational reporting, decision support, financial modeling, controllership, and cost reduction initiatives. You'll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver timely analysis, insightful guidance, and financial leadership as we scale our last-mile delivery organization. This role provides extensive partnership opportunities with business and finance leaders to identify best practices across the network and drive cost improvements. A typical day offers the chance to innovate through large-scale, data-driven decision-making while building creative, socially responsible logistics solutions.
Success in this role requires strong business partnership, sound judgment, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment. You'll lead variance analysis deep dives, present findings during business reviews, and balance structured financial processes with ad-hoc projects. You bring best-in-class partnership skills and strong controllership, prioritizing work that maximizes impact for key stakeholders and solves complex, company-wide challenges.
Key job responsibilities
Controllership & Risk Management: Identify control risks, evaluate impact, propose changes, and implement improvements to remediate gaps.
Financial Close & Reporting: Deliver weekly/monthly financial close activities. Leverage financial systems and advanced Excel to manage large data sets and produce plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.
Data Integrity: Work with diverse data sources; identify incomplete or inaccurate data, determine root causes, escalate discrepancies, and partner to resolve issues.
AI & Automation: Leverage AI tools and technologies (e.g., machine learning models, generative AI, predictive analytics) to enhance financial analysis, automate repetitive tasks, and generate actionable insights that drive business decisions.
Communication: Use active listening and clear, concise communication (written and verbal) to articulate complex finance topics. Adjust style for various audiences.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes—including exploring AI-driven solutions to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Time Management: Prioritize work independently, resolve issues, meet deadlines, and seek feedback. Discern between urgent and non-urgent matters and act accordingly.
Professional Development: Drive your own growth within the Finance community—seek opportunities to expand expertise in emerging technologies including AI/ML, participate in initiatives, and share knowledge across teams.
Team Culture: Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment; serve as an effective mentor and role model for new team members.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
