Operations Excellence Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations excellence manager in Texas?
The most direct path is earning a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business, or operations management, then building hands-on process improvement experience in a Texas industry such as energy, manufacturing, or healthcare. No state-issued license is required in Texas. Most employers expect a Six Sigma certification at the Green Belt or Black Belt level, which candidates can obtain through the American Society for Quality or employer-sponsored training programs at large Texas companies.
How much do operations excellence managers make in Texas?
Operations excellence managers in Texas earn a median of about $103,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,190 for the lowest 10% to over $264,620 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operations excellence managers in Texas?
Employers hiring operations excellence managers in Texas right now include Apple, BD, and Wingstop, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's large manufacturing, energy, and healthcare sectors mean that operations excellence roles appear consistently at both corporate headquarters and regional plant or campus locations across the state.
Which Texas cities have the most operations excellence manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Plano account for the highest concentration of operations excellence manager openings in Texas. Houston's energy and petrochemical industry drives the largest share of postings, while Dallas attracts corporate headquarters and distribution center roles, and San Antonio's growing manufacturing base and large healthcare networks contribute consistent demand for process improvement leadership.
Are there remote operations excellence manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Operations excellence managers typically work on-site to observe processes, lead kaizen events, and manage floor-level teams directly, which limits full remote availability. About 25% of operations excellence manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to be corporate program management or reporting roles rather than plant or facility-based positions.
How can I get hired as a operations excellence manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an operations analyst, quality technician, or production supervisor role first, then building toward operations excellence responsibilities from within. Large Texas manufacturers like Toyota Manufacturing Texas and Lockheed Martin, and major health systems like Texas Health Resources, run structured rotational or continuous improvement associate programs that develop candidates without prior dedicated operations excellence titles. Earning a Six Sigma Green Belt before applying gives candidates a measurable credential that Texas employers consistently recognize.
Where can I find and apply to operations excellence manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to operations excellence manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target location, and apply directly to each listing without any additional steps required.
