Senior Level Operations Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level operations job?
Employers at this level look for candidates who have owned significant outcomes, not just contributed to them. Highlight process improvements you designed and implemented, teams or projects you led, and measurable results like cost reductions or efficiency gains. Cross-functional leadership experience and the ability to influence without authority are strong differentiators at the senior level.
Which companies hire senior level operations professionals?
Companies hiring senior level operations professionals right now include CVS Health, Amazon, and Uline, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a range of employers, including large enterprises managing complex supply chains and high-growth companies building out their operations infrastructure.
Are there remote senior level operations jobs?
Yes, though many senior operations roles still require an on-site or hybrid presence given the coordination they involve. About 30% of senior level operations openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, so flexibility varies depending on the employer and the scope of the role.
What makes an operations role senior level?
Senior operations roles are defined by ownership and scope. You are expected to set strategy, drive process improvements across departments, and make decisions that affect the broader organization. These roles typically involve mentoring junior team members, managing stakeholder relationships, and leading initiatives from design through execution rather than executing tasks handed down from above.
Which industries hire the most senior level operations professionals?
Senior level operations roles concentrate in Insurance, Technology & Software, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. These sectors tend to run high-volume, process-intensive operations where experienced leadership directly affects efficiency, cost, and scale.
