INTRODUCTION
SentiLink provides innovative identity and risk solutions, empowering institutions and individuals to transact with confidence. We’re building the future of identity verification in the United States, replacing a clunky, ineffective, and expensive status quo with solutions that are 10x faster, smarter, and more accurate. We’ve seen tremendous traction and are growing extremely quickly. Our real-time APIs have helped verify hundreds of millions of identities, starting with financial services and rapidly expanding into new markets. SentiLink is backed by world-class investors including Craft Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, NYCA, and Max Levchin. We’ve earned recognition from TechCrunch, CNBC, Bloomberg, Forbes, Business Insider, PYMNTS, American Banker, LendIt, and have been named to the Forbes Fintech 50 list every year since 2023. Last but not least, we’ve even made history - we were the first company to go live with the eCBSV and testified before the United States House of Representatives on the future of identity. SentiLink supports a variety of ways to work, ranging from fully remote to in-office. We operate as a digital-first company with strong collaboration across the U.S. and India. We maintain physical offices in Austin, San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Chicago in the U.S., and in Gurugram (Delhi) and Bengaluru in India. If you’re located near one of these offices, we would love for you to spend time in the office regularly. Some roles are hybrid or in-office by design. For example, our engineering team in India works primarily from our Gurugram office.
ROLE
We are seeking an AI Strategy and Process Lead to institutionalize the use of AI across core business processes. The mission of this role is to create increasing scale on costs by systematically identifying, implementing, and measuring AI-enabled improvements that drive meaningful productivity gains. Starting with two pilot functions, this leader will design a repeatable framework for AI opportunity identification, deployment, governance, and performance measurement. Success in this role will be defined by sustained, measurable improvements in cost efficiency, cycle time, and quality — and by building an internal capability that enables responsible, scalable AI adoption across the organization.
Responsibilities
AI Opportunity Identification and Prioritization:
- Partner with functional leaders to identify high-leverage processes suitable for AI enablement.
- Map workflows, quantify baseline performance (cost, time, quality), and prioritize opportunities based on ROI and feasibility.
- Develop clear business cases for AI investments, including expected impact and risks.
Implementation and Execution:
- Lead end-to-end deployment of AI tools and workflow redesign across pilot functions.
- Redesign processes to embed AI natively rather than layering tools onto existing inefficiencies.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure adoption, training, and operational continuity.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and risk standards.
Measurement and Performance Management:
- Define standardized metrics to assess AI impact (e.g., cost per unit, throughput, error rates, headcount leverage).
- Establish dashboards and reporting cadences to track performance.
- Deliver sustained productivity improvements in pilot processes, with documented performance over at least six months.
- Present regular updates to executive leadership on outcomes, risks, and expansion opportunities.
Framework and Capability Building:
- Develop and document a repeatable AI evaluation and implementation framework.
- Create internal playbooks, governance guidelines, and training materials for responsible AI usage.
- Establish an intake process for AI ideas across the company.
- Expand the program beyond initial pilots as results are validated.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in process transformation, operations, automation, or strategic initiatives in a high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated success delivering measurable productivity, cost, or quality improvements.
- Strong analytical capability with comfort defining metrics and evaluating ROI.
- Practical familiarity with AI tools, workflow automation platforms, and modern productivity systems.
- Experience operating in regulated or data-sensitive environments is preferred.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive adoption without direct authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly with executive audiences.
This role is suited for a builder who combines operational rigor with pragmatic technical fluency. The focus is not experimentation for its own sake, but durable productivity gains and scalable institutional capability.
COMPENSATION
- Salary: $140,000 - $220,000/year + equity + benefits
Note: This salary range is inclusive of multiple career levels, and the actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's education, experience, skills, and qualifications.
PERKS
- Employer paid group health insurance for you and your dependents
- 401(k) plan with employer match (or equivalent for non US-based roles)
- Flexible paid time off
- Regular company-wide in-person events
- Home office stipend, and more!
CORPORATE VALUES
- Follow Through
- Deep Understanding
- Whatever It Takes
- Do Something Smart

How to Get Visa Sponsorship in AI Strategy Lead
Confirm STEM OPT eligibility before applying
AI Strategy Lead roles typically qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension if your degree is in computer science, data science, or a related STEM field. Verify your CIP code with your DSO before applications go out.
Frame your experience around business outcomes
AI Strategy is not a pure engineering role. Hiring managers want evidence you can translate technical capabilities into organizational decisions. Highlight projects where your work directly influenced product direction, cost reduction, or revenue growth.
Understand the OPT reporting timeline
You must report a new employer to your DSO within 10 days of starting. For a senior role with a longer hiring process, factor in that your OPT clock runs continuously whether employed or not, so avoid gaps between offers.
Address OPT proactively with employers
Strategy-level roles often involve long hiring cycles with multiple stakeholders. Raise your OPT status early so decision-makers can consult HR or legal before making an offer, avoiding last-minute complications that derail otherwise strong candidacies.
Build a portfolio of cross-functional AI projects
AI Strategy Lead candidates who can show collaboration across engineering, product, and executive teams stand out. Document two or three examples where you drove alignment between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders on an AI initiative.

Does an AI Strategy Lead role qualify for the STEM OPT extension?
It depends on your degree, not the job title. If your degree is in computer science, data science, information systems, or another qualifying STEM field, you can apply for the 24-month STEM OPT extension, giving you up to 36 months total. Confirm your CIP code with your DSO, since the extension is tied to your program, not the role itself.
Will employers sponsor OPT for a strategy role rather than a technical one?
Yes, but the pool is smaller than for engineering roles. Employers who have already invested in building an AI function, and who need someone to lead strategy across business units, tend to be more flexible on work authorization because the talent is genuinely scarce. Migrate Mate filters specifically for OPT-friendly postings, so you can focus on employers already open to sponsorship.
Can I work as an AI Strategy Lead at a startup on OPT?
Yes, OPT allows employment at startups, including those without a formal HR department. The employer must be a legitimate business entity, and you must report the position to your DSO within 10 days of starting. One practical consideration: startups with fewer than 25 employees face higher STEM OPT reporting requirements, so confirm the company understands its obligations under the E-Verify and mentorship plan rules.
What happens if my OPT expires before my employer files for H-1B?
If your STEM OPT is still active when your employer submits an H-1B petition before the April 1 filing deadline, a timely filed petition extends your work authorization through a cap-gap period until October 1. If your OPT expires before that window, you cannot work legally in the interim. Planning your job start date and STEM OPT application timeline around the H-1B calendar is essential for roles at this level.
Is an AI Strategy Lead role considered a specialty occupation for future H-1B purposes?
Generally yes, provided the role requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, data science, or business analytics with a technical focus. Roles that are broadly defined as general management without a technical degree requirement may face more scrutiny. A well-scoped job description that connects the strategic responsibilities to specific technical knowledge strengthens the specialty occupation argument significantly.
