Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding OPT Sponsorship as a Revenue Operations Manager
Target companies with a RevOps function already in place
Companies that already have a revenue operations team understand the role's value and are far more likely to sponsor. A standalone RevOps hire at a company that's never had the function is a harder sponsorship conversation to have.
Lead with your CRM and data stack experience
Employers hiring Revenue Operations Managers want to see Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar CRM proficiency upfront. Specific tool experience signals you can contribute immediately, which matters when a company is weighing sponsorship costs against ramp-up time.
Clarify your OPT timeline early in the process
Revenue operations hires often take 60 to 90 days to close. Knowing exactly when your OPT expires and whether you qualify for STEM extension lets you frame the timeline honestly and avoid surprises at the offer stage.
Frame sponsorship as a retention tool, not a burden
Revenue operations roles have high institutional knowledge. Positions that require months to ramp up are natural candidates for long-term retention. Framing H-1B visa sponsorship as part of that retention story makes the conversation easier for hiring managers.
Use your STEM extension if your degree qualifies
If you studied computer science, information systems, statistics, or a related STEM field, you may qualify for the 24-month OPT extension. This gives employers a longer runway before H-1B sponsorship is required, which removes a common objection.
Focus your search on mid-size and growth-stage companies
Series B and Series C companies building out go-to-market infrastructure actively need RevOps talent and are often more flexible on sponsorship than early-stage startups. Migrate Mate filters specifically for employers open to sponsoring OPT workers.
Revenue Operations Manager OPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Revenue Operations Manager roles typically sponsor H-1B visas?
Many do, particularly at mid-size to large companies where the role has clear strategic value. Revenue Operations sits at the core of go-to-market efficiency, and employers who've invested in building the function tend to retain strong performers through H-1B sponsorship. Smaller or early-stage companies may be less likely to sponsor, so targeting the right company size matters.
Does a Revenue Operations Manager role qualify for the STEM OPT extension?
It depends on your underlying degree, not the job title. If your degree is in a qualifying STEM field, such as computer science, information systems, statistics, or applied mathematics, you may be eligible for the 24-month extension even if you're working in a business-facing operations role. Your DSO can confirm whether your specific degree CIP code qualifies.
How can I find Revenue Operations Manager jobs that sponsor OPT?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for F-1 OPT students and filters for employers open to sponsoring work authorization. Searching there will surface Revenue Operations Manager roles at companies already familiar with OPT and H-1B processes, saving you from applying to positions where sponsorship was never on the table.
What background do employers expect for a Revenue Operations Manager on OPT?
Most employers want experience with CRM platforms like Salesforce or HubSpot, familiarity with sales or marketing funnel analytics, and the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and finance teams. A degree in business, information systems, or a quantitative field is common. Employers hiring on OPT often prioritize demonstrated technical proficiency because it reduces perceived risk.
Can I start a Revenue Operations Manager role before my H-1B is approved?
Yes. You can work under OPT while your employer files an H-1B petition. If your OPT expires before H-1B status begins on October 1, the cap-gap rule allows you to continue working as long as your employer files before your OPT end date and you maintain valid F-1 status. Confirm your exact dates with your DSO before making employment decisions.
