OT Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an ot job in Chicago?
Focus your search on Chicago's dense healthcare corridors, particularly the Illinois Medical District on the Near West Side, the Streeterville hospital cluster, and the North Shore suburban health systems. Acute care, pediatric, and hand therapy specializations are in highest demand locally. Candidates who hold NBCOT certification and have clinical rotations logged at Chicago-area facilities move faster through hiring than those without local ties.
Which companies hire ots in Chicago?
Chicago ot roles are posted by Eyas Landing, PwC, and All Care Therapies and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local market is anchored by large academic medical centers, multi-site rehabilitation groups, pediatric health networks, and the Chicago Public Schools system, which runs one of the largest school-based therapy programs in the country.
Are there remote ot jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though opportunities are limited since most ot work requires direct, hands-on patient contact. About 33% of ot openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, primarily in telehealth consultation, care coordination, and occupational health program management roles. The highest concentration of those flexible positions sits within Chicago's large insurance carriers and corporate wellness employers.
How can I get an ot job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is through Level II fieldwork placements at the city's academic medical centers, which frequently convert to full-time roles. Look for new-grad residency programs at rehabilitation hospitals and the skilled nursing facility networks operating throughout the South and West sides. Entry-level school-based positions with Chicago Public Schools and community health centers in underserved neighborhoods are also consistent sources of first jobs for new graduates.
Which industries hire the most ots in Chicago?
Most ot openings in Chicago sit in Technology & Software and Cybersecurity, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Chicago's role as a major Midwest healthcare hub, combined with its large public school system and growing corporate occupational health sector, keeps those industries consistently at the top of local hiring volume.
