Process Engineer Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a process engineer job in Atlanta?
Focus on Atlanta's strongest hiring sectors: food and beverage manufacturing, specialty chemicals, and aerospace and defense suppliers concentrated in the south metro. Companies in the Peachtree City and Smyrna-Marietta corridors regularly recruit for continuous improvement and lean manufacturing experience. Candidates with Six Sigma certification, hands-on PLC or automation experience, and familiarity with FDA or GMP regulated environments have a clear edge in Atlanta's local market.
Which companies hire process engineers in Atlanta?
Employers hiring process engineers in Atlanta right now include Georgia-Pacific, Anduril, and Novisync, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Atlanta's hiring mix reflects its industrial base, drawing from large consumer goods manufacturers, tier-one aerospace suppliers, and regional chemical processing plants distributed across the metro's suburban corridors.
Are there remote process engineer jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, but sparingly. Process engineering is largely hands-on work tied to physical production lines and equipment, so fully remote roles are uncommon. About 50% of process engineer openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to cover process documentation, data analysis, or validation work that does not require daily floor presence.
How can I get a process engineer job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is targeting co-op or rotational programs at the area's large consumer goods and aerospace manufacturers, which routinely hire recent engineering graduates. Entry-level process technician and manufacturing engineer roles at Peachtree City and Smyrna facilities offer direct exposure to production environments. A Georgia Tech or Georgia Southern engineering degree carries strong local recognition, and any internship with an Atlanta-area food, chemical, or defense manufacturer significantly shortens the path to a full-time offer.
Which industries hire the most process engineers in Atlanta?
Atlanta process engineer roles concentrate in Energy, Manufacturing, and Distribution & Wholesale, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Atlanta's position as a regional logistics and manufacturing hub, combined with its dense cluster of food production facilities and proximity to Lockheed Martin's Marietta operations, consistently drives demand across those sectors.
