GMC is seeking a motivated Site Civil Engineer/Project Manager to join our Cartersville or Atlanta, GA offices. The successful candidate(s) should demonstrate proficiency in site civil design, collaboration, respect among co-workers and client relationship skills. This individual will be responsible for successfully managing client relationships in conjunction with training a growing site civil team for commercial, institutional, municipal and residential projects. We have the advantage at GMC to work on a variety of project types and sizes within the public, private, institutional, commercial, educational and residential sectors.
Essential functions and responsibilities include:
- Overseeing site civil efforts on a variety of projects and having the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, stormwater/drainage, infrastructure, erosion & sediment control from concept through completion
- Prepare stormwater management designs and reports, conduct hydraulic and hydrology analyses, and develop SWPPPs.
- Manage site civil workflows to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and agency requirements for all project phases.
- Collaborate with clients, project team members, contractors, and government agencies as needed.
- Coordinate with permitting authorities and local officials to secure site-related permits and oversee as-built documentation and platting through project closeout.
- Perform QA/QC reviews on civil plans and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Travel as necessary to support project execution, client meetings, and company functions.
- Reinforce GMC standards and Core Values within project teams and across the organization.
- Participate in local professional societies to maintain industry engagement and professional development.
- Engage in community service initiatives, understanding their impact on the company and local community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or tenured professional in the civil engineering field with Bachelor’s in a related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of site civil engineering experience with a variety of projects
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Proficient in Civil 3D and other stormwater design software
- Experienced in stormwater system design, hydraulic analysis, and reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to make sound design decisions independently
