About Rippling
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system. Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds. Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes. We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.
About The Role
Every year, employers and employees spend over $5 trillion on benefits globally. From health insurance to saving for retirement, these benefits products guide families through some of the most important and impactful decisions in life. Despite the significance of these products and the dollars spent, the experience is still painfully antiquated, expensive, and confusing. Rippling is building the first modern multi-sided marketplace that seamlessly connects brokers, employers, and employees with any benefit—our platform powers the discovery, purchase, and use of benefits products around the world. Our benefits vertical includes our Benefits Platform (recommendations, payments, and our benefits eligibility engine), our rapidly growing Benefits Marketplace of over 100 partners, and our natively-built Rippling Benefits Products. Design plays an essential role in ensuring the product is easy to use, flexible, and powerful, helping free up smart people to work on hard problems for their organizations rather than the busy work that often comes with their jobs. We hold design to a higher standard than others in the industry, and it’s core to Rippling’s vision. The user experience is essential in building trust with our customers so they can feel confident that important aspects of their business run without fail for their employees. As designers, you’re responsible for creating these experiences that solve real everyday problems for employees and companies by designing surprisingly great products for them. We’re looking for a Product Designer who is passionate about helping businesses and their employees succeed in their missions by helping them run more effectively.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to define both the long-term strategy and the short-term tactics for new and existing features and products
- Design new 0-1 products, improve and expand new products, and execute tactical deliverables
- Design fully featured product experiences that provide power and flexibility, but simultaneously provide simplicity and ease of use
- Partner closely with our user research team, collaborate and support UX research projects, and use research findings in design work
- Participate in design reviews and share your work regularly with the design and company leadership
- Understand the array of technical constraints and capabilities, user goals, and business requirements that shape a product
- Work with Engineering to ensure quality implementation and product launches
- Work closely with designers on your team to develop and expand the product design system
What You Will Need
- 6+ years of professional product design experience with a track record of shipping complex, high-impact products end to end, from planning to QA
- Proven ability to transform complexity into elegant simplicity, whether in fintech, enterprise software, or other demanding domains
- Strong craft skills with proficiency in design tools and the ability to create compelling, detailed design specifications and prototypes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; you can articulate design decisions clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Relentless customer focus; you dig deep to understand real user needs and translate those insights into design decisions that solve meaningful problems
- Self-starter mentality with a bias toward action; you thrive in fast-paced environments and turn ambiguity into clarity through thoughtful design exploration
- Familiarity with generative AI design tools and excitement about how they can expand creative possibilities and accelerate workflow
