Principal Associate, Project Management - Card Delivery and Planning Team (Hybrid)

As a Principal Associate, Project Manager at Capital One, you will be part of a dedicated team supporting high value projects for our Card and Personal Loans agenda. The Principal Associate Project Manager will play a key role in delivering projects that impact the company’s bottom line. In this position you will contribute immediately in this fast paced environment while building your business knowledge and project management systems at Capital One.

We are seeking dedicated, disciplined, project management professionals who excel in a team environment. This person will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and can adapt to change quickly. The ability to influence up is key to success in this position.

General Responsibilities:

• Leading and owning oversight of small and medium sized project management work and collaborating with teammates on larger initiatives

• Collecting data and information and using analytics and reporting to provide transparency to senior leadership and executives

• Identify and implement process improvements driving issue resolution/risk mitigation activities

• Tracking and resolving process breakdowns

• Developing and maintaining formal documentation including project risks, schedule/tasks and decisions

• Acting as a subject matter expert to effectively partner with project customers to achieve desired outcome or improvement by clarifying needs and providing appropriate solutions

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

• At least 2 years of project management or process management experience

• At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering or interacting with internal business clients

• At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office or G Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

• 3+ years of experience with project management tools (Jira, MS Project, Confluence)

• 3+ years of experience working, supporting or partnering with internal business clients

• 3+ years of Project Management or Process Management experience

• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Strong problem solving and influencing skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Project Manager

Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Project Manager

Riverwoods, IL: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Project Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
