BASIC FUNCTION: Direct the manufacturing operations involved in the production of cylinder liners. Incorporate customer purchase orders into a realistic manufacturing plan that will ensure delivery of product on a timely basis.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise employees and assign work to meet production schedules; provide shift-to-shift continuity.

• Enforce plant rules covered by labor contract; resolve labor problems.

• Maintain two-way communications between management and hourly employees.

• Enforce safety rules and oversee housekeeping.

• Meet predetermined annual goals in the area of labor efficiency, productivity improvement, cost reduction, scrap reduction, safety performance, and absenteeism.

• Schedule and acknowledge delivery dates on customer purchase orders while striving to meet customer requirements.

• Monitor production capacities on a regular basis and communicate with management as required to ensure sufficient capacities are available to manufacture scheduled product.

• Coordinate manning and overtime requirements to ensure a flow of product to meet forecasts and customer delivery dates.

• Meet plant objectives for stock investment of work in process and finished goods.

• Participate in the progressive system improvement activities relative to production planning, and stock investment control.

• Coordinate the logistics and transportation of finished goods to meet customer delivery dates.

• Communicate with Federal Mogul Departments to establish shipping and packaging needs to meet customer requirements.

• Other duties as assigned.

• The person assigned to this job has the authority and responsibility for the tasks designated in the EMS (Environmental Management System) procedures and for the tasks described below.

• Understanding and assuring conformance with the plant’s Environmental Policy as it relates to their job responsibilities.
