Position Summary
The Production Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring chemical manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality products while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Operate and monitor chemical manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality products.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Conduct visual inspections and tests to verify product quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Record production data and maintain accurate and up-to-date logs, reports and company system.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Participate in training programs to improve job skills and knowledge.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Operate material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished products.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Associate degree in a technical field, such as chemical technology or process technology.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and record keeping.
- Willingness to work in a production environment with exposure to chemicals, noise, and dust.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Hazmat Technician 24 Hour Certification.
- 1+ years of experience operating production equipment in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical industry.
- Basic knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret SOPs and safety guidelines.
