Program Manager Jobs in Colorado Springs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a program manager job in Colorado Springs?
Colorado Springs hiring is dominated by federal defense contractors clustered near Peterson Space Force Base, Schriever Space Force Base, and Fort Carson, so candidates with a Department of Defense background, a security clearance, or experience managing government contracts have a clear edge here. Healthcare systems and growing tech firms in Briargate and the Innovation District round out the market. PMP certification and familiarity with Agile or DoD acquisition frameworks strengthen any application in this city.
Which companies hire program managers in Colorado Springs?
Colorado Springs program manager roles are posted by Odyssey Consulting, Odyssey Systems Consulting, and Booz Allen Hamilton and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local market leans heavily toward large defense primes, federal agencies with space and cyber missions, and regional healthcare networks, making it a strong market for candidates with government program experience.
Are there remote program manager jobs in Colorado Springs?
Yes, though program manager roles tied to cleared defense work or on-site government contracts are rarely fully remote given access and facility requirements. About 55% of program manager openings tied to Colorado Springs are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, skewing toward commercial tech and healthcare employers. Roles in enterprise software delivery and non-classified IT programs offer the most remote flexibility locally.
How can I get a program manager job in Colorado Springs with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Colorado Springs is moving laterally from a project coordinator or associate project manager role with one of the city's mid-tier defense contractors or healthcare systems, which often promote from within. Pursuing a PMP or CAPM certification and volunteering for program support functions builds the credential base local employers expect. Uchealth, Centura Health, and smaller defense subcontractors in the Norwood and Interquest areas are known to hire junior program staff with structured growth tracks.
