Project Engineer Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project engineer job in Orlando?
Focus your search on Orlando's strongest hiring sectors: construction and civil infrastructure tied to the city's rapid growth, aerospace and defense around the Space Coast corridor, and theme park and hospitality engineering along the I-4 corridor. Candidates with PMP certification, AutoCAD or Procore proficiency, and hands-on experience managing Florida permitting processes stand out. Targeting firms working on public-private infrastructure projects near Lake Nona and SunRail expansion gives you a concrete local edge.
Which companies hire project engineers in Orlando?
Employers hiring project engineers in Orlando right now include Cuhaci Peterson, CPH, and Osborn Engineering, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Orlando's market includes a mix of large construction general contractors, aerospace and defense primes, utilities, and theme park engineering operations, reflecting the city's broad infrastructure and development activity.
Are there remote project engineer jobs in Orlando?
Yes, though remote work is limited for hands-on site roles and more available for design, planning, and coordination functions. About 16% of project engineer openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common. In Orlando, remote or hybrid project engineer work tends to concentrate in software-adjacent engineering, defense program management, and design review roles rather than field or construction positions.
How can I get a project engineer job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Orlando is targeting junior or associate project engineer roles with mid-size construction and civil engineering firms managing the region's ongoing residential and commercial development. Orlando's infrastructure growth, including transit, hospital, and hospitality projects, creates consistent entry-level openings. Internships with Orange County government contractors or UCF-affiliated engineering programs provide local credentials that Orlando employers recognize. Proficiency in project scheduling software and earning an EIT designation strengthens any early-career application here.
Which industries hire the most project engineers in Orlando?
Orlando project engineer roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Food & Beverage, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Orlando's combination of sustained real estate and infrastructure development, a significant defense and simulation industry presence, and the engineering demands of its tourism and entertainment sector drives consistent project engineer hiring across those fields.
