Project Engineer Jobs in Greenville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project engineer job in Greenville?
Focus your search on Greenville's manufacturing corridor and the construction firms building out the Upstate's industrial and commercial infrastructure. Automotive supply chain companies clustered near the I-85 corridor and the BMW supply network, along with commercial construction general contractors and engineering consultancies Downtown, hire project engineers most consistently. Candidates with hands-on site experience, familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, or backgrounds in mechanical or civil engineering tend to stand out in this market.
Which companies hire project engineers in Greenville?
Greenville project engineer roles are posted by Hargrove Engineers + Constructors, S&ME, and A M King and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Greenville's employer base is weighted toward Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers, regional engineering consultancies, and commercial and industrial construction firms serving the broader Upstate South Carolina market.
Are there remote project engineer jobs in Greenville?
Yes, but only for certain project engineer specialties, since most roles require regular on-site presence for inspections, coordination, and hands-on oversight. About 0% of project engineer openings tied to Greenville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, so fully remote listings are the exception, not the rule. The portions most likely to go remote or hybrid are project controls, scheduling, and cost-estimation work within larger program teams.
How can I get a project engineer job in Greenville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Greenville is through internship-to-hire programs at automotive suppliers or engineering consultancies along the I-85 corridor. Many of these companies hire co-ops and recent graduates from Clemson University and Greenville Technical College into junior project coordinator or field engineer roles that convert to full project engineer positions. Familiarity with AutoCAD, project scheduling tools, or quality systems used in manufacturing gives entry-level candidates a measurable edge with local employers.
Which industries hire the most project engineers in Greenville?
Most project engineer openings in Greenville sit in Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Greenville's position as a hub for BMW's North American supply chain, combined with sustained commercial and industrial construction activity throughout the Upstate, keeps demand in those sectors consistently higher than in other parts of South Carolina.
