Position Summary:
The Medicare Strategic PMO is looking for an experienced program/project leader who enjoys bringing people together to deliver meaningful Outcomes. You'll help guide high-impact, highly visible initiatives—and you'll do it with partners across the organization who value clarity, collaboration, and follow-through. The Lead Director, Project program Management, will lead a cross-functional team to deliver large, complex strategic initiatives across the Medicare Organization. In a matrix environment, you'll create alignment across teams, support project/program managers, and partner closely with stakeholders to shape practical, end-to-end strategies and solutions that work for the people doing the work and the members we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple initiatives in parallel, creating shared clarity so teams Stay aligned and supported
- Guide multi-year, large-scale programs from concept through implementation, mitigate risks, partnering closely with teams along the way put strong program practices in place (schedules, metrics, reporting, tracking, communication and financial management) so teams can plan confidently and execute smoothly
- Monitor progress against milestones and build value-based metrics and analysis to celebrate wins and course-correct early when needed
- Delver results by meeting milestones and commitments while fostering a culture of accountability and partnership
- Setting strategic direction for complex programs and helping teams navigate ambiguity with confidence and clarity
- Building thoughtful budgets and resource plans so the right people and support are in place at the right time
- Partnering With stakeholders early and often-listening first, aligning on priorities, and using influence to move work forward
- Creating clear, executive-ready updates that help leaders understand progress, risks, and decisions needed
- Working side-by-side With Technology teams to deliver complex initiatives end-to-end
Required Qualifications
- Proven success leading large-scale initiatives in a matrix organization, With a collaborative approach
- 8+ years of project/program management experience with increasing scope and complexity Ability to achieve results through others by motivating, coaching, and influencing with respect
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to varied audiences in a clear, approachable way Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to lead change initiatives that improve performance and outcomes while bringing people along the journey
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Medicare and/or other government programs
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Monday.com or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of IT delivery methodologies and ways of working
- PMP designation is a plus
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
