Field Service Manager Jobs in Connecticut: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field service manager in Connecticut?
Most field service managers in Connecticut move into the role from senior technician or service coordinator positions after building hands-on industry experience. Connecticut does not require a state-issued manager's license for this role, but employers in sectors like HVAC, electrical systems, and medical devices often expect candidates to hold relevant trade certifications or manufacturer credentials. A technical degree strengthens candidacy, and professionals who complete project management or operations coursework move up faster.
How much do field service managers make in Connecticut?
Field service managers in Connecticut earn a median of about $94,050 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,240 for the lowest 10% to over $132,770 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field service managers in Connecticut?
Employers hiring field service managers in Connecticut right now include CaptiveAire, Pratt & Whitney, and ITW, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Connecticut's concentration of aerospace, healthcare technology, and industrial automation firms means demand is spread across both large corporations and specialized regional contractors throughout the Hartford metro and coastal corridors.
Which Connecticut cities have the most field service manager jobs?
Hartford, East Hartford, and North Haven have the most field service manager openings in Connecticut. Hartford leads because of its density of insurance technology firms, aerospace suppliers, and healthcare systems, while Bridgeport and New Haven draw hiring from their manufacturing bases, hospital networks, and proximity to large facility-dependent employers along the I-95 corridor.
Are there remote field service manager jobs in Connecticut?
Yes, but they're rare. Field service manager roles are fundamentally hands-on, requiring on-site team oversight, client visits, and equipment inspections, which limits remote work compared to desk-based roles. About 38% of field service manager openings tied to Connecticut are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to cover scheduling, reporting, and vendor coordination responsibilities rather than direct field supervision.
How can I get hired as a field service manager in Connecticut with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a field service technician role at a large Connecticut employer, where you build the technical and supervisory foundation before moving into management. Companies like Siemens and UTC-affiliated operations in the Hartford area run structured development tracks for technical staff. Moving laterally from a service coordinator, operations analyst, or project administrator role is also common. Earning a manufacturer certification or completing an industry credential in your target sector, whether HVAC, biomedical equipment, or industrial automation, gives you a measurable edge when applying for your first management opening.
Where can I find and apply to field service manager jobs in Connecticut?
