Project Management Analyst Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project management analyst in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island does not issue a state license for project management analysts, so entry centers on education and professional credentials. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related discipline. From there, earning a CAPM through the Project Management Institute is the clearest early-career credential, with the PMP suited to candidates who have accumulated hands-on project hours. Internships or coordinator roles at Providence-area healthcare systems, defense contractors, or financial firms are the most common first steps.
How much do project management analysts make in Rhode Island?
Project management analysts in Rhode Island earn a median of about $104,680 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,750 for the lowest 10% to over $170,050 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire project management analysts in Rhode Island?
Employers hiring project management analysts in Rhode Island right now include CVS Health, Citizens, and Raytheon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of large healthcare networks, federal defense contractors based in the Providence metro, and established financial services firms means demand holds relatively steady across business cycles.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most project management analyst jobs?
Providence, Rhode Island, and Cranston account for the largest share of project management analyst openings in Rhode Island. Providence drives the bulk of demand as the state's primary business and healthcare hub, while Warwick benefits from its proximity to T.F. Green Airport and the cluster of corporate offices and defense contractors along Route 2, and Newport sees openings tied to the Naval Station and its supporting technology firms.
Are there remote project management analyst jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than most fields, because project management analysis is fundamentally a desk and coordination role that translates well to distributed teams. About 57% of project management analyst openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader adoption of flexible arrangements by Providence-area employers. The tasks most commonly handled remotely include stakeholder reporting, schedule tracking, and risk documentation.
How can I get hired as a project management analyst in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a project coordinator or business analyst associate role at one of Rhode Island's large healthcare or defense employers. Lifespan and Care New England regularly bring on coordinators from administrative and operations backgrounds, while Raytheon Technologies offers rotational programs for recent graduates interested in defense program support. Earning a CAPM before applying signals seriousness to hiring managers, and building a portfolio of even one small internal project managed end-to-end strengthens any application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to project management analyst jobs in Rhode Island?
You can find and apply to project management analyst jobs in Rhode Island on Migrate Mate, which lists current Rhode Island openings updated in real time. Search the listings, identify the roles that match your background and location preferences, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
