Project Management Analyst Jobs in Madison: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project management analyst job in Madison?
Target Madison's three dominant hiring sectors: state and federal government agencies concentrated near the Capitol, healthcare systems anchored along University Avenue, and technology firms clustered in University Research Park. Candidates who combine PMP certification or a Scrum credential with experience in regulated environments stand out locally. Familiarity with state procurement processes or health IT workflows gives a meaningful edge over generalist applicants in this market.
Which companies hire project management analysts in Madison?
Companies currently hiring project management analysts in Madison include Catalent Pharma Solutions, JPMorganChase, and CVS Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Madison's employer mix skews toward large institutions, including state agencies, UW Health affiliates, and established technology firms, rather than early-stage startups.
Are there remote project management analyst jobs in Madison?
Yes, project management analyst work is largely desk-based and documentation-driven, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 20% of project management analyst openings tied to Madison are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with flexibility most common in technology and consulting roles. State agency and healthcare system positions typically require more on-site presence.
How can I get a project management analyst job in Madison with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Madison is through project coordinator or business analyst roles at state agencies or UW-affiliated organizations, which regularly hire at the junior level and promote from within. Madison's large public sector creates steady entry-level openings that value attention to process over years of experience. Earning a CAPM certification and volunteering on campus or nonprofit project committees builds a credible portfolio before your first full-time role.
Which industries hire the most project management analysts in Madison?
The sectors hiring the most project management analysts in Madison are Healthcare & Medical Services, Consulting & Professional Services, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Madison's status as the state capital and home to a major research university drives unusually high demand from government agencies and healthcare systems relative to other mid-size cities.
