Project Superintendent – Heavy Civil & Mission Critical Projects
Company: Gregory Construction
Gregory Construction, a faith-driven and nationally recognized leader in heavy civil construction, is seeking a seasoned Project Superintendent to take full ownership of field operations on complex, high-impact projects. This role is built for a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, takes pride in delivering work the right way, and is fully committed to going where the work is.
Travel is a core requirement of this role. Projects are located across the Southwest, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions. Assignments are based on business needs—not geographic preference—so flexibility and a willingness to travel extensively (and for extended durations) are essential to success. This is not a home-based position.
What You’ll Do
- Take complete responsibility for day-to-day field operations, leading crews and subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
- Drive project execution by owning the schedule, sequencing, and manpower planning in coordination with Project Management.
- Champion a culture of safety by actively enforcing site-specific plans and holding teams accountable to Gregory’s standards.
- Maintain a constant presence in the field—monitoring productivity, resolving issues in real time, and ensuring work is installed correctly the first time.
- Oversee jobsite logistics, equipment coordination, and material flow to keep projects moving without disruption.
- Manage and review critical field documentation including daily reports, production tracking, change orders, and T&M work.
- Serve as the primary on-site leader and point of contact for clients, inspectors, and engineers.
- Build, mentor, and develop field teams while reinforcing Gregory’s core values: Safety, Integrity, Excellence, Communication, and Determination.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of proven experience leading field operations in heavy civil construction; mission critical project experience is a strong plus.
- A leadership style grounded in accountability, urgency, and field presence—not from behind a desk.
- Strong technical understanding of sitework, underground utilities, grading, paving, and equipment utilization.
- Ability to read plans, anticipate challenges, and proactively solve problems to keep work on track.
- Experience with construction technology (Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or similar tools).
- OSHA 30 certification required; CPR/First Aid preferred.
- High school diploma required; construction-related degree preferred.
What Sets You Apart
- You’re willing to go where the work is—without hesitation—and stay as long as the project requires.
- You take ownership of your jobsite and treat every project like it’s your own.
- You lead from the front, earning respect through action, consistency, and decision-making in the field.
Why Gregory Construction
- Competitive compensation package including health, dental, PTO, and 401(k) with company match.
- Opportunity to lead challenging, high-profile projects across multiple regions.
- A values-driven culture that invests in its people and promotes long-term career growth.

Project Superintendent Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project superintendent job in Atlanta?
Focus on Atlanta's active commercial construction and infrastructure sectors, where demand for project superintendents is highest. General contractors working on Midtown high-rises, Westside mixed-use projects, and MARTA expansion corridors post frequently. Candidates with direct experience managing ground-up commercial builds in dense urban environments stand out. A strong safety record and familiarity with Atlanta's permitting process through the City of Atlanta Department of City Planning gives a meaningful edge.
Which companies hire project superintendents in Atlanta?
Atlanta project superintendent roles are posted by Turner & Townsend Pty Limited, Dennis, and Burns & McDonnell and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta's hiring mix includes regional general contractors, national construction management firms with Atlanta offices, and real estate developers driving the city's ongoing urban core and transit-oriented development pipeline.
Are there remote project superintendent jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though remote work is rare for project superintendents since the role is fundamentally site-based. About 19% of project superintendent openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to cover pre-construction planning, scheduling coordination, or owner's representative work rather than active field supervision.
How can I get a project superintendent job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is through an assistant superintendent or field engineer role with a regional general contractor. Firms managing Atlanta's stadium-adjacent redevelopment, airport concourse work, or Beltline-connected mixed-use projects regularly hire entry-level site staff. Georgia Tech's construction management program and local union apprenticeships through the Atlanta Building Trades Council both produce candidates that Atlanta contractors actively recruit from.
Which industries hire the most project superintendents in Atlanta?
Most project superintendent openings in Atlanta sit in Construction & Real Estate, Consulting & Professional Services, and Manufacturing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta's role as a logistics hub, a major airport city, and a fast-growing urban core keeps commercial construction, infrastructure, and institutional development consistently among the highest-volume sources of local project superintendent demand.
