Entry Level Property Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level property manager job?
Start by highlighting any hands-on experience that shows you can handle tenant communication, lease administration, or property maintenance coordination, even if it came from an internship, part-time leasing role, or campus housing job. Employers at this level often look for candidates with strong organizational skills, a customer-service mindset, and familiarity with property management software. A real estate license, where required by your state, gives you a clear edge.
Which companies hire entry level property managers?
Companies hiring entry level property managers right now include Avenue5 Residential, WinnCompanies, and Farmers Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring covers residential management firms, commercial real estate companies, student housing operators, and property owners managing their own portfolios.
Are there remote entry level property manager jobs?
Yes, though most roles at this level are on-site given the hands-on nature of property oversight. About 11% of entry level property manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to focus on leasing coordination, administrative support, or portfolio reporting rather than day-to-day on-site management.
Are these new grad property manager jobs?
Yes, many of these listings are new grad friendly, including roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates, junior candidates, and applicants with zero to two years of experience. A new grad posting typically accepts an internship, a campus housing assistant role, or a strong leasing portfolio in place of full-time experience, making them accessible to candidates stepping into property management for the first time.
Which industries hire the most entry level property managers?
Entry Level property manager roles concentrate in Construction & Real Estate, Insurance, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they manage high volumes of residential or commercial units and need on-site staff who can grow into broader portfolio responsibilities over time.
