Entry Level Proposal Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level proposal manager job?
Focus on building a portfolio of writing samples, even from coursework, internships, or volunteer projects, because entry level proposal manager roles prioritize demonstrated writing and organization skills over years of experience. Familiarity with proposal formats, RFP responses, and tools like Microsoft Word or Google Docs gives candidates a clear edge. Certifications from APMP can also strengthen an application at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level proposal managers?
Companies hiring entry level proposal managers right now include Medpace, Collabera, and GFT, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Government contractors, consulting firms, and technology services companies tend to be the most active employers at this level, as they run frequent proposal cycles and need junior staff to support their bid teams.
Are there remote entry level proposal manager jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles are still common at this experience level. About 24% of entry level proposal manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which gives candidates flexibility regardless of where they are located. Filtering by work setting on Migrate Mate lets you narrow openings to the arrangement that fits your situation.
Are these new grad proposal manager jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad friendly posting typically asks for zero to two years of experience and accepts internships, capstone projects, or a writing portfolio in place of a full work history. Look for language like "recent graduates encouraged" or "training provided" as reliable signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level proposal managers?
Entry Level proposal manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive the most hiring at this level because they depend heavily on competitive bidding, grant writing, or contract work, which creates ongoing demand for junior proposal staff who can learn the process and grow into senior roles.
