Public Relations Intern Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a public relations intern in Idaho?
Public relations internships in Idaho require no state-issued license or certification, so the path centers on education and portfolio building. Most employers expect current enrollment or recent completion of a bachelor's program in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. Candidates who have completed coursework through Idaho universities like Boise State or the University of Idaho and can show writing samples, a campus media role, or a student-run communications project consistently move further in the hiring process.
Which companies hire public relations interns in Idaho?
Idaho public relations intern roles are posted by State Farm, Suburban Propane, and Cascadia Services and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Idaho's mix of large utilities, regional health systems, agricultural cooperatives, and state government agencies creates a diverse range of internship environments beyond the typical corporate communications setting.
Which Idaho cities have the most public relations intern jobs?
Boise, Rexburg, and Eagle account for the largest share of public relations intern openings in Idaho. Boise drives the bulk of demand as the state's commercial and government hub, while Pocatello and Moscow generate consistent openings through Idaho State University and the University of Idaho, both of which house communications departments, athletics offices, and media relations teams that regularly bring on interns.
Are there remote public relations intern jobs in Idaho?
Yes, and they're more common than in many fields, since much of the writing, pitching, and social media work can be done off-site. About 20% of public relations intern openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting a genuine shift toward flexible arrangements. Media monitoring, content drafting, and digital campaign support are the tasks most likely to be performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a public relations intern in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is applying directly through university career offices at Boise State, the University of Idaho, or Idaho State, where local employers post internships designed specifically for students with no prior professional experience. Joining campus organizations like a student newspaper, marketing club, or athletics communications staff builds the writing samples and media tools that Idaho employers look for. Candidates who can show even one published press release or a managed social media account for a campus group have a clear edge over those with an empty portfolio.
Where can I find and apply to public relations intern jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to public relations intern jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and availability, and apply directly to the ones that fit. No sign-up is required to see the openings.
