QA Specialist Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a qa specialist in Washington?
Most qa specialist roles in Washington require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, though some employers accept an associate degree paired with demonstrated testing experience. Washington does not issue a state license for qa specialists, but industry certifications such as ISTQB Certified Tester or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor carry real weight with Washington employers, particularly in aerospace and medical device firms operating under strict regulatory standards.
Which companies hire qa specialists in Washington?
Employers hiring qa specialists in Washington right now include Amazon, Evotec, and B.E. Meyers, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Washington's concentration of major technology headquarters and aerospace manufacturers means demand is spread across both large enterprise teams and mid-size software companies operating in the greater Seattle area.
Which Washington cities have the most qa specialist jobs?
Seattle, Redmond, and Richland consistently post the most qa specialist openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue draw the largest share because of their dense concentration of software and cloud technology companies, while Redmond's hiring is driven heavily by Microsoft's campus operations and the ecosystem of vendors and contractors that support it.
Are there remote qa specialist jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 22% of qa specialist openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves writing and running automated tests, reviewing code, and filing defect reports in digital tools. Roles tied to physical products, such as medical device or aerospace hardware testing, are more likely to require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a qa specialist in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an associate or junior QA role at a mid-size Washington software company, where teams are small enough to train candidates who bring a portfolio of personal or academic testing projects. Building that portfolio using open-source applications, then earning an ISTQB Foundation Level certification, signals readiness to Washington hiring managers. Lateral moves from roles like technical support analyst, business analyst, or data entry specialist are common entry points, and companies like Microsoft and Amazon regularly post university hire or associate-level QA positions that do not require prior industry experience.
Where can I find and apply to qa specialist jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to qa specialist jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Washington employers. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
